Secretary Pockets $767,600 from Employer to Fund Lavish Lifestyle
A former Secretary, Helen Maria Hart, stole £500,000 (about $767,600) from her former employers, to fund the high extravagant lifestyle of the rich for six years reported the Daily Mail in a story published Friday.
During a six year period, Hart 45, of Redruth, Cornwall, among other things, took a private jet to Paris, bought luxury cars, which included a Porsche Boxster, Premier League football tickets, a Range Rover and BMW X5, 48 bottles of wine costing $7,660 and $3,073 for work on her kitchen. She is also accused of stealing $71,459 in a deal to buy a Mercedes car using a Coutts bank account.
The former secretary appeared in court, facing 25 counts which involve using the check book of her employer PDP Green Consulting Ltd, based in Truro, Cornwall, UK, between October 2005 and May last year.
Magistrates adjourned the case until July 6 and Hart was released on unconditional bail.
