Bouncer Confiscates His Own Stolen ID
A bouncer was pleasantly surprised to stumble across his own stolen ID Saturday – in the palm of the hand of a University of Iowa student who stole it.
The bouncer, who was working the door at the Union, was handed his ID by Steven Fiorella, a 19-year-old student who tried to pass the ID off as his own.
According to the criminal complaint, reported by Press-Citizen, the doorman notified Iowa City Police officers at 12:55 that Fiorella attempted to use his ID to enter the Union.
The bouncer, who’s ID was stolen in February, “immediately” recognized his driver’s license, said police.
To make matters even worse for the student, he was also in possession of the doorman’s debit card and AAA card, which he claimed to have purchased at the party for $20.
Fiorella has since been charged with fifth-degree theft and unlawful use of another person’s ID.
