Two store clerks prevailed against a Spiderman impersonator wielding a sword Wednesday in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The Spiderman assailant attempted an armed robbery at a local convenient store just after midnight Wednesday.

Dale Foughty, 56, has been charged with attempted armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury along with injury to personal property, reported Eyewitness 9 News.

Detectives say Foughty stuck his sword in the store clerk’s face and said, “give me your money and I will not hurt you,” but the store clerk fought back with a broom and was eventually joined by another clerk. The two managed to unmask the Spiderman impersonator who lost part of his ponytail in the process and fled the scene – on foot, of course.

Foughty was later found in a residence near the convenient store.
