Caroly Bartz Tells Fortune That Yahoo! “F**ked Her Over”
In an interview with Fortune yesterday, Carol Bartz proved that she can hang with the dirtiest of foulmouthed guys out there by saying that her former company had “f**ked her over” in firing her earlier this week.
Carol Bartz, Yahoo!’s ex CEO is known for her tactless public comments, like telling former TechCrunch editor Michael Arrington to “f**k off.” Her comments have never failed to cause a stir.
Bartz told Fortune exclusively how the firing went down.
Bartz, who was in New York Tuesday, called Bostock at 6 p.m. for a scheduled telephone conversation. As soon as she got on the phone with him, he started reading a lawyer’s prepared statement to dismiss her.
“I said, ‘Roy, I think that’s a script. Why don’t you have the balls to tell me yourself?’”
When he finished reading the statement, Bartz didn’t argue and simply said “I got it. I got it.” She added, “I thought you were classier than that.”
Bartz made reference to the lucrative deal to sell Yahoo! to Microsoft in 2007. “The board was so spooked by being cast as the worst board in the country,” she said. “Now they’re trying to show that they’re not the doofuses that they are.”
In case you’re wondering, yes – Carol Bartz had a non-disparagement clause in her employment contract, in which there is still around $10 million outstanding.
A non-disparagement clause is a provision in a contract requiring one or more parties to the agreement not to make negative statements about the other(s).
This could be the first time in history that the term “doofus” could cost anyone such a substantial amount of money.

She just “F**ked herself over” $10 million!
“I thought you were classier than that.” – oh the irony..
